Refugee Partners is a ministry that extends a hand of friendship and support to refugee and immigrant families as they transition to a new country and community. Our mission is to join with World Relief to welcome, equip, and empower our new friends while showing and sharing God’s great love for them.

Refugee Partners aim to:
-Welcome refugees to our community and our church, building reciprocal caring relationships.
-Equip refugees with information and supports to navigate this new world.
-Empower them to become independent, contributing, and valued members of our community.

As we begin this new ministry in collaboration with World Relief, we will have two initial opportunities for our attenders of The Compass Church to be involved:
Good Neighbor Teams
A small group of adults come around a refugee family after the initial World Relief 90-Day Program. The team would “come alongside” the family for six additional months to answer questions, offer practical support in navigating their new world, and build caring relationships that display God’s love. Training is provided.

ESL Tutoring
Retired and current teachers, as well as, other caring adults offer support for adults and students acquiring the English language through tutoring sessions. We also have opportunities for assisting students in their academic studies. Training is provided.
