Kids Hope USA, one of our CompassLocal partners, believes that all kids matter to Jesus and that the local church is uniquely called to care for children in their community who would benefit from another caring, reliable relationship. For Kids Hope students, one of those relationships gets to be with their mentor who stands alongside parents, teachers, principals, and counselors to ensure kids are valued and loved.
Mentors meet with a child one-on-one for one hour each week during the student’s lunch hour to build positive and encouraging relationships by working on school-related projects, reading, or playing a game together.
The Compass Church has Kids Hope programs in the following schools: BJ Ward Elementary in Bolingbrook, Indian Trail Elementary in Downers Grove, and Scott Elementary in Naperville.
