Frequently Asked Questions

A: Great question. In the past, campaigns like Rise Up and Unstoppable asked for a second gift “above and beyond” your regular giving (a separate campaign fund). While well-intentioned, this model can be confusing, especially for those who don’t yet have a baseline for “normal giving,” and it can unintentionally minimize the importance of ongoing, faithful generosity.

That’s why Lets Go is a One Fund initiative. For two years, every single gift given to Compass will go toward the Let's Go vision. No separate funds. No divided focus. One mission. One heart. One fund. Whether you’re giving for the first time or have been faithfully investing for years, your generosity fuels everything God is doing through Compass during this season.

A: First, pray. Ask God what He’s calling you to do in this season. Prepare your heart to listen and respond. We invite everyone at Compass to join a Small Group, reflect personally and as a family, and make a sacrificial commitment to gospel-driven generosity. We believe God wants to grow our faith and use our faithfulness to fuel the mission of Helping People Find & Follow God. Let’s Go is more than a campaign; it’s a defining moment in your spiritual journey.

A: Absolutely. Many people give through stocks, mutual funds, ETFs, real estate, savings, donor advised funds (DAFs), business interests, foundations or other stored assets that God may be prompting them to contribute. Generosity can take many forms. If you'd like help facilitating a non-cash gift, we’d love to guide you through that process. Just reach out to our finance department at finance@thecompass.net.

A: Then this is the perfect time to start! Let’s Go is designed for everyone, whether you’re a first-time giver or a long-time contributor. Every gift matters. More importantly, every step of faith matters. This is your opportunity to take your first step on the Generosity Journey and experience God’s provisions in a new way.

A: Welcome, we’re glad you’re here! Let’s Go is a churchwide vision and there’s no better time to get involved. If Compass feels like home, then this is your invitation to join the mission, invest in life change and experience what it means to be part of something bigger than yourself.

A: No, it does not. The Plainfield land purchase is separate from this Let’s Go campaign. The land purchase needs city approval before anything can move forward. If that happens, the funding has already been approved by our members back on March 2, 2025.

A:  We’re aiming to raise $40 million over the next two years so we won’t need any additional long-term funding for construction. To keep the project moving smoothly and on schedule, we may use a short-term bridge loan if needed.

A: It’s a thoughtful and important question. Scripture shows that places have always mattered in God’s mission. The Tabernacle (Exodus 25–27), Solomon’s Temple (1 Kings 6–8), and the rebuilding of the temple under Ezra and Nehemiah were not just about structures—they were about creating spaces for worship, teaching and community transformation. Today, buildings continue to serve that role. They aren’t in opposition to people-focused ministry; they help it thrive. As stewards of God’s resources, we are called to invest in both people and places with prayerful wisdom and faithfulness (1 Peter 4:10, Proverbs 3:9).
